3. Never should a tune have been so obviously a number one smash and yet fail to achieve that spot. Peaking at number three in the U.K. behind Slade and, dare it be said, the Osmonds, "20th Century Boy" would be the last T. Rex single to place so strongly, but as an unintentional farewell to the rarified air of chart heights, it couldn't have been better.

5. A rock 'n' roll collection without some T. Rex in it is an incomplete collection to say the least. Marc Bolan did some amazing things in his relatively short musical career, but his Glam Rock legacy seems to be eclipsed by David Bowie and Queen, which is rather sad (I like both those artists, to be sure, but c'mon, its T.
