Luau (Master Take B-Side) - The Beach Boys - Surfin (CD, Album)

  1. (November ) " Surfin' " is a song by American rock band the Beach Boys, written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love. It was released as the first Beach Boys single (with "Luau" on the B-side) in November on Candix Records and it later appeared on the album Surfin' Safari.
  2. The title cut is The Beach Boys' teen-spirit anthem, souping up the Chuck Berry riff from “Sweet Little Sixteen.” In spite of five tossed-off surf instrumentals, the record stands out on “Farmer’s Daughter” and the beach-goth ballad “Lovely Sea.”.
  3. This CD is something for real Beach Boys-Fans. It gives us an insight view into the early beginning before the Boys had their contract with the major label "Capitol" and the first longplay was released. With "Luau", the rare-on-cd B-Side of the first Candix-Single "Surfin", the CD was my first possibility to listen to it.
