2. Well, even “Trans-global Express” which attempts to merge New Wave with Sly & The Family Stone can be fun. So, there is hardly any fault to be found with the A-side of their final album. So why all the negative image of The Gift? Where criticism is justified is the unashamed display of a clear lack of finished material to complete this album.

7. This is a more soulful album from The Jam. About as far from In the City as is possible to get. It showcases Paul Weller's interest in Motown more than any other Jam album, and is in some ways not surprising that the band split soon after recording it. But is is still distinctively a Jam album, and none the worse for that/5().
